Business group Alonso Marí, SA, whose commercial name is Insotel Group, is a family business group with headquarters on the island of Ibiza (Balearic Islands - Spain), founded by Alonso Marí Calbet, who has been active in the tourism sector since the 60s. It has hotels, travel agencies, shipping company, marina and bus company.
The shipping company Servicios y Concesiones Marítimas Ibicencas, S.A. (Sercomisa), which operates under the commercial name of Trasmapi, is one of the pioneers in shipping for the islands of Ibiza and Formentera and has been operating since the 1960s. It's the main supplier of passenger transport between the islands of Ibiza and Formentera, carrying about 1 million customers every year.
It is the maritime division of the Insotel Group, of which the Balearic shipping company TRASMAPI is a part. With 50 years of operation between the Pitiusas (Ibiza and Formentera), TRASMAPI is the leader in its segment, serving nearly 1 million passengers annually on its main route between the ports of Ibiza and Formentera.
Last year 2022, IMG opens a new maritime route, between Mallorca and Menorca, under the MENORCA LINES brand. With a local, high-speed boutique proposal for passengers and vehicles, between the ports of Alcudia (Mallorca) and Ciutadella (Menorca). Thus, IMG is now present in the four Balearic Islands.
Likewise, FORMENTERA LINES —The Shipping Company of Formentera (former Mediterránea Pitiusa) and FORMENTERA CARGO, are part of the Insotel Marine Group.
IMG also participates in the operation of the marinas MARINA IBIZA, MARINA PORT IBIZA, MARINA PALMA, and now also in MARINA PORT MAHÓN. As well as in other related business areas (VARADERO IBIZA).
The Group currently owns nine hotel complexes with seafront locations, situated on the islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera (Balearic Islands, Spain), with 2,442 units and 5,360 beds and divided into two large brands: the high quality Insotel Hotels & Resorts brand and the luxury Insotel Prestige Hotels & Resorts brand.
Marina Ibiza has outstanding facilities in an elegant but practical setting to offer the most comprehensive service to boats, owners and crews. With a capacity for more than 400 yachts of up to 40 metres in length, it's one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean. All yacht services are available berthside while the Social Club provides luxury services including a heated swimming pool, restaurant and cafeteria, spa, nautical library, fitness centre, laundry and hairdressing salon, among others.
