About Us

Menorca Lines is the vertical brand of the Spanish shipping company Trasmapi, which has been operating since 1974 in the Pitiusas, in the Balearic Islands. It is a leader in its segment, serving about 1 million passengers annually on its main route between the ports of Ibiza and Formentera.

 

Trasmapi is the commercial name of SERCOMISA —Services and Concesiones Marítimas Ibicencas SA, and belongs to Insotel Group, a family corporation with 100% Balearic capital and headquarters in Ibiza, which has been active in the tourism sector since its founding by Alonso Marí Calbet in the 1960 s. In the hotel division (Insotel Hotel Group), the group has eight seafront hotel complexes, in all the Balearic Islands, with a global offer of 8,000 places and 2,500 rooms, under its two main brands Insotel Hotels & Resorts, and Insotel Prestige Hotels & Resorts.

Where can I buy the tickets?

You can book your ferry tickets online at www.menorcalines.com.

In addition, you can buy them at the ticket offices of the maritime station of Alcúdia located in the port of Alcúdia in Mallorca and at the ticket offices of the maritime station located in the port of Ciutadella in the port of Menorca.

Using promotional codes

If you have a promotion code, you must insert it without blank spaces in the box next to the SEARCH button on the reservation mask at www.menorcalines.com.

Promo codes are valid exclusively for roundtrip ticket reservations.
They are not cumulative with the discount for large families.

How do I book online?
up
  • SELECT PATH: Select the ticket type (one way or round trip) along with the origin and destination of your trip. The tab will automatically open to select the dates of your trip.
  • DATES: Select the date by clicking on the calendar corresponding to the one-way date, by default the current day appears but you can move between the dates by clicking on the arrows that appear above the calendar. The fields for the choice of PASSENGERS and VEHICLE will appear below.
  • PASSENGERS: You must select the number of passengers according to age at the time of travel. If you are traveling with a pet, please select the box in this section. During the booking process you can indicate the exact number of pets that will travel.

The option to add your vehicle ticket to your booking will automatically appear below. By default, the displayed value is No Vehicle and press SEARCH.

If passengers have any discount / bonus for residence and / or large family, you must indicate by selecting an option from the default.

In addition, if you have a promotional code, you must indicate it, so we calculate your rate.

Promotions for traveling with your vehicle

How do I know if my booking has been confirmed?
up

Once you have entered all the details of the passengers and / or vehicle and click on CONFIRM BOOKING, you will be redirected to a new (secure) screen of Banco Sabadell to make the payment by debit or credit card. The price indicated on your booking includes VAT and any other taxes or fees associated with the provision of the services purchased. For your security Menorca Lines by Trasmapi does not store your card data.

At the end of the ticket purchase, if the card payment has been made successfully, a confirmation screen will be displayed where you can download the vouchers associated with your booking, you will also receive a confirmation e-mail containing the vouchers of the services purchased and the booking locator. This documentation is proof of purchase and acceptance of contracted services.

What payment methods can I use?
up

The only payment method is via debit or credit card via a virtual POS of Banco Sabadell (secure payment platform). Payment by American Express card is not allowed.

The cardholder of the card used for payment need not be the booking holder, as the card used in the booking process will not need to be presented to obtain the boarding cards.

After purchase, you can check in online to get your boarding passes.

I need to make a change or cancelation of my booking, how can I do it?
up

You must make any changes to your booking by calling +34 971 31 44 33 or by email reservas@menorcalines.com (agencias@menorcalines.com if you have made the booking through the professional area), up to 2 working days before the date of travel, provided the boarding passes have not been issued (check-in).

Any change may be subject to a price modification, the difference being paid, processing costs may also arise, or the service may not be available.

  • If the cancelation is made 7 days or more before the date of your first service, 90% of the amount paid will be paid, the remaining 10% being as cancelation fees.
  • If the cancelation is received within 6 days and before 48 hours of the vessel’s departure, 20% of the ticket amount will be deducted as cancelation fees.

In all cases of cancelation or modification at no cost, management fees of EUR 15 per booking may be charged.

Failure by the passenger to show up without prior notice on the day of travel shall be treated as a cancelation, and no amount shall be refunded to the ticket holder.

I need a bill. How do I apply?

You can request an invoice for your booking or tickets purchased at the ticket office or boats, through the REQUEST INVOICE form in the MANAGE menu or by requesting it in writing to facturacion@menorcalines.com indicating the booking locator number and the billing tax data.

Within 15-30 days you will receive the invoice by email in the indicated e-mail.

What is self-check-in and how is it done?
up

The online self-check-in is a free process for getting your boarding passes and boarding the boat directly without going through the ticket office.

After making your booking, please access the online CHECK-IN section at www.menorcalines.com. You will need to enter your booking locator number (provided on the booking confirmation screen or received by e-mail) next to the e-mail address provided at the time of booking.

The service is available only during the 15 calendar days before the departure date of your booking. Remember that once the boarding passes are issued, no changes or cancelations can be made to the booking.

Auto Check-in

Leave us the check-in and save time before your ferry departure: if you have not checked in online, we will do it for you automatically and will send boarding passes to your email 48 hours before your travel date.

Who can check online?
up

All confirmed bookings, except for bookings with a Balearic residency bonus whose residence has not been verified digitally or for Large Families, who must obtain boarding passes at the ticket office upon presentation of the documentation proving such a bonus.

I can't check in online. How do I get boarding passes?
up

The check-in process may not complete successfully in these situations:

  • The page is not available. There may be an error on the website, please try again later.
  • I am a resident, and it is impossible to digitally check the residence of the passengers. This may be due to the non-operational nature of the IT platform or a negative response from the IT platform because the passenger data has not been entered correctly or is not registered in the system.

The boarding passes must be obtained at the ticket offices of the Maritime Stations in the Port of Mallorca or Menorca, presenting the booking voucher received by e-mail.

In all cases, if the error persists, you can contact Menorca Lines by Trasmapi to report the incident.

What documentation do I need to board with online check-in?

Once you have checked in for boarding, you must present the boarding passes issued online printed on paper or in mobile format with the booking voucher received by e-mail, as proof of the booking or ticket.

Can I travel with a rental car?
up

You can board your rental car if the rental company allows it. We recommend that you check with the rental agency first to avoid problems at the time of collection.

What's the deadline for me to show up for boarding?
up

Passenger without vehicle: passengers with boarding passes must arrive up to 30 minutes before departure of the ship. Otherwise, they must be present 60 minutes before departure.

Passenger with vehicle: passengers with boarding passes for themselves and the vehicle must arrive up to 60 minutes before the ship departs. Otherwise, they must arrive more than an hour before.

Is there a hand luggage limit?
up

A passenger without a vehicle on board may carry up to 20 kilos of personal luggage. For other special large baggage please refer to reservas@menorcalines.com

What are the rates and services included?
up

Our rates include port charges, taxes, management fees, travel insurance and the passenger journey and luggage.

Residency discounts in the Balearic Islands will only apply to the passengers, not to vehicles.

Pets can travel for free on our boats.

Bicycles can travel for free.

Type of passengers
up

The age of the passenger will be considered when traveling, not when making the booking. To check the age at boarding our staff may request documentation to prove the date of birth.

  • Babies: Babies up to 4 travel for free as they do not occupy a place.
  • Children: From 4 to 13 have special discounted fares.
  • Adults: Adults between 14 and 59, pay 100% of the fare.
  • Seniors: Passengers aged 60 or over have a special discount.
  • Pets: Pets travel for free.
Can my pet travel on board?
up

Pets and animals on board:

You can travel with your pet on board for free. If you want your pet to travel in the passenger lounge, it must do so in its cage or carrier, if its dimensions do not obstruct the escape routes. If it exceeds the size set by the ship's crew it must travel on the deck.

While boarding and landing, dogs must be restrained with a strap and muzzle, even if they are peaceful animals.

Under no circumstances must animals travel inside the vehicle.

Passengers requiring special attention

In Menorca Lines by Trasmapi we are available to passengers with reduced mobility who need our help to travel. For this purpose, we ask for your cooperation, it is recommended that those people who require special attention (people deprived of mobility, visual or auditory disability etc.) indicate this at the time of making the online purchase of their tickets or in their absence, at least 24 hours in advance indicating the special conditions in which it is located so the ground staff and the crew can attend to it properly.

In step 3 of the booking process: When entering personal data, you will see the option for notifying that one or more passengers needs assistance and their details.

Visually impaired people: Guide dogs will have access to the rooms and may be travel with the person they accompany but must not obstruct the escape routes.

Ticket Loss / Theft

A passenger who does not board, for reasons beyond the company's control, may not have their ticket refunded. The Company shall not be liable if the passenger loses any service because of being late and shall not have to delay any service to await the arrival of the passenger, or to provide them with a seat on another service if the passenger misses their passage.

The Company shall not be liable in the event for the loss or theft of the tickets and shall not have to replace or re-issue such notes or refund the amount paid.

Can I smoke on board?

Our ships are smoke-free spaces. Smoking is prohibited on board the vessel, even on deck.

It is forbidden to throw garbage into the sea.

Booking for groups

Menorca Lines by Trasmapi offers discounts for groups of passengers from 10 people. Contact us and ask for your special rate.

Application for registering as an agency
up

Menorca Lines by Trasmapi has a professional area for travel agencies, which will allow you to book tickets for your customers easily.

In the Professional Area you can apply for registration in this service, filling in the form provided. You will shortly receive an email confirming receipt of the information along with the conditions of the service, which you must accept simply by answering "Conform" to said e-mail. Access data and a user manual will then be sent by e-mail.

Payment Method / Billing

The only method of payment of the professional area bookings is prepayment via debit or credit card.

Yes it is! You can read a whole catalog of magazine and newspapers online and for free on board. You just have  to follow these steps:

  1. Connect to the free Menorca Lines Wi-Fi network.
  2. Access to Pressreader through the web link you will find on your screen.
  3. Start reading.

 Remember that you can also download the content to your mobile so that you can read it later or wherever you want.
